USA American Gold and Silver Eagles

The American Gold Eagle is an official gold bullion coin of the United States. Authorized under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985, it was first released by the United States Mint in 1986. The American Eagle Gold Eagles have become one of the world's leading gold investment coins.

The United States Gold Mint produces American Eagle coins with imprinted legal tender "face" value and gold content. The gold coins are the only bullions in America that are guaranteed by the USA government. Private investors and collectors buy these gold coins knowing that they contain the stated amount of pure gold.

American Eagle coins use 22 karats durable and standard gold. It has been circulating coinage for three centuries. The coins resist marring and scratching, which increases its resale value. The USA gold Eagle coins are available for purchase since 1986. The USA government initiated a gold coin program containing four weights of Eagles and then expanded it in 1988.

Design and Denomination of USA American Eagle coins
In 1905, Theodore Roosevelt chose a historic coinage design for the Eagle coins. He revitalized the design of the coins by using Lady Liberty's Saint-Gaudens crowning achievement. The coin's observed side shows her full-length image with flowing hair and robe in the breeze while she seems to stride forward with pride.
The sun rays are setting at her back with 46 stars along the rim of the coin. In 1912, Congress added two more stars to the design, depicting Arizona and Mexico's reunion. The reverse side of Eagle coins has an imprinted nestling bald eagle family. The image shows a male bald eagle with nest branches in talons.

Before 1933, the USA American Eagles (also made out of gold) circulated with a denomination of $20 to $2.50. The modern Eagle 1 oz coin has a denomination of $50. The beautiful coins contain 91.6 percent gold and 5.3 percent copper.

The silver Eagle coins have the denomination $1, but its metal worth is of course much higher. It has grown immensely popular among silver stackers and investors all over the world.
